Dutch studio Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design has made quite the splash at the Monaco Yacht Show, introducing a visionary concept that aims to redefine the boundaries of marine engineering and high-end luxury. Renowned globally for pushing the envelope in custom yacht design, the celebrated Dutch design house used this year’s prestigious Monaco stage to unveil what it asserts will be the world’s largest trimaran superyacht concept if brought to fruition.
Christened Fusion, the monumental vessel boasts staggering proportions. It measures an impressive 387 feet in length and spans just over 98 feet wide at its broadest point. These dimensions mean that if the concept transitions from the drawing board to an active shipyard build, it would comfortably eclipse the 276-foot White Rabbit, which currently holds the title of the world’s largest trimaran.
The secret to the vessel’s unprecedented scale and layout lies in its multihull architecture. "Three near-full-length hulls come together as one architecture, and that changes what is possible aboard a yacht of this size," studio founder and principal designer Sander J. Sinot said in a statement detailing the design philosophy behind the ambitious project.
By utilizing a lengthy center hull flanked by two slightly shorter side hulls, the design team has generated an expansive living environment. The layout yields supersized interiors coupled with nearly 36,000 square feet of exterior deck space. This sheer amount of real estate allows the multihull vessel to serve a dual purpose, functioning simultaneously as a rugged explorer and a ultra-luxurious superyacht. Consequently, it is capable of offering the heavy-duty equipment and massive volume required for far-flung expeditions to remote corners of the globe, while seamlessly maintaining the lavish amenities and modern conveniences expected from elite life at sea.
"Our owners no longer want to choose between culture and adventure, between serenity and action," Sinot adds, illuminating the changing demands of modern yacht owners. "Fusion is designed so they don’t have to choose."
Designed with a careful balance of tranquility and high-end entertaining in mind, the vessel’s internal layout is exceptionally versatile. Highlights include a grand formal dining lounge, a dedicated cinema room outfitted with a massive 8K MicroLED video wall, a sprawling gymnasium, and a health area equipped with a counter-current swimming pool. Additionally, the yacht features a nearly 3,300-square-foot wellness zone dedicated entirely to relaxation, complete with a fully equipped spa and an immersive plunge pool.
Connecting these various levels is a monumental transverse staircase positioned centrally within the lobby. Rising gracefully through the three upper decks, the staircase serves as a striking architectural centerpiece that unifies the vertical expanse of the vessel. At the very top rests the exclusive owner’s deck, housing an expansive owner’s residence. This private sanctuary comprises dual bathrooms, separate dressing rooms, a private lounge, a dedicated office, and an isolated outdoor terrace designed for ultimate privacy.
Accommodations for guests are equally opulent. Eight additional VIP cabins are situated on the main deck, with the capacity to comfortably sleep up to 16 guests. Each VIP suite features private loggias equipped with glass transoms that open directly out to the surrounding sea, offering immersive ocean views. Furthermore, two of these guest cabins come outfitted with their own private saunas, elevating the onboard hospitality to new heights.
The social heart of the vessel beats on the upper deck, where the dining lounge and its adjoining pool terrace provide a vibrant hub for gathering. This space features an 18-seat dining table, two fully stocked bars, and a stunning glass-bottom pool that looks directly down onto the tenders resting on the main deck below.
True to its explorer capabilities, Fusion is engineered to house all the standard water toys alongside heavy-duty equipment like helicopters and vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft. Crowning the vessel is the foredeck—affectionately dubbed the "Playdeck" by Sinot—which houses a full-size tennis court. True to the multifaceted nature of the yacht, this versatile space can effortlessly transform from a daytime sports arena into an open-air entertainment venue or a nighttime nightclub.
Despite the grand scale and complexity typically associated with such avant-garde concepts, Sinot emphasizes that Fusion is not merely a theoretical exercise. The studio reports that the concept is fully ready to build, with a designated shipyard capable of initiating detailed architectural and engineering phases immediately, bypassing the need for a total redesign of the trimaran platform.
