At the tail end of New York Fashion Week, fashion brand Collina Strada invited hundreds of guests upstate to Storm King, an outdoor sculpture park nestled in New York’s Hudson Valley. Following the vibrant parade of pastel designs shown at the label’s spring 2027 show, the after-party encouraged attendees to sprawl out on an assortment of splashy rugs and sofas that comprise Collina Strada’s very first home collection.

The unexpected and visually striking gathering served as the public introduction of a new lifestyle direction for the brand, translating its well-known runway aesthetics into the realm of interior design. Guests at the outdoor sculpture park experienced the debut collection firsthand, lounging on plush furnishings set against the natural backdrop of the Hudson Valley.
Founder Hillary Taymour partnered with Swedish design house Layered on the line, which features four hand-tufted rugs and two modular, low-slung sofas. At the celebratory event, some of the statement rugs were laid out directly on the grass in lieu of traditional picnic blankets, providing a comfortable surface for guests to lounge on while nibbling on light bites. Other rugs were suspended from metal frames, functioning much like traditional tapestries to showcase their intricate patterns vertically.

Additionally, corduroy pillows rendered in Petal Plum—a floral print lifted directly from the floor of the brand’s New York flagship store—doubled as soft seating, offering attendees a cozy way to bask in the late-summer sun. The fusion of interior design pieces with an outdoor public art environment underscored the playful, unconventional spirit that has long defined the Collina Strada label.
The expansion into home furnishings bridges a natural gap for the designer. The collection translates some of Collina Strada’s signature motifs, including playful plaids and sprawling florals, into lighthearted, color-dappled furnishings whose palettes look hand-painted. In a few cases, they literally were hand-painted, such as the Petal Plum print that Taymour painted herself. For someone like her who has always treated clothing as a direct form of self-expression, this collaboration feels like a logical counterpart, designed to suit the kind of living room that bursts with uninhibited personality.

The visual themes running through the collection are deeply rooted in the brand’s recent runway presentations. The exact pale pink plaid print that appeared in Collina Strada’s fall 2026 show resurfaced prominently in its Garden Pop rug and Plaid Garden sofa. Other highlights of the garden party setup included a pair of dynamic floral rugs: one that sprouts blooms beyond its traditional rectangular edges, and another carved into an organic, flowing silhouette. Both designs appeared completely at home in harmony with their natural surroundings at Storm King.
The newly introduced pieces are priced starting at $2,000 and are available for purchase through Layered’s official website. The offering includes the Collina Strada Two-Seater Sofa priced at $3,850, the Collina Strada Three-Seater Sofa priced at $5,550, the Collina Strada Garden Wool Rug priced at $2,000, the Collina Strada Petal Wool Rug priced at $2,000, the Collina Strada Plaid Wool Rug priced at $2,000, and the Collina Strada Haze Wool Rug priced at $2,000.

By taking its unmistakable runway vision and applying it to durable, high-end wool rugs and modular seating, Collina Strada has successfully carved out a distinctive space in the home decor market, proving that the brand’s boundary-pushing ethos translates just as effortlessly to the living room floor as it does to the New York Fashion Week runway.
