currey-company-acquires-119000-square-foot-facility-in-stone-mountain-for-new-headquarters

Currey & Company, a prominent wholesale resource specializing in designer lighting, distinctive furniture, and home decor, has announced a major milestone in the company’s history with the acquisition of a 119,000-square-foot building located at 4470 Greer Circle in Stone Mountain, Georgia. The property is slated to serve as the brand’s brand-new, state-of-the-art corporate headquarters, marking a significant physical and operational evolution for the enterprise.

The company officially closed on the strategic real estate transaction on August 5, 2026. Following the acquisition, Currey & Company will begin a comprehensive transition process, with expectations to fully relocate its operations from its longtime home on Best Friend Road in mid-to-late 2027. This move leaves behind a facility that has housed the company for nearly a quarter of a century, paving the way for a modern infrastructure tailored to the contemporary demands of the wholesale home furnishings industry.

The newly acquired facility, which is only five years old, was originally purpose-built for high-capacity furniture distribution as the former Georgia Furniture Mart. The building offers an array of modern industrial specifications designed to optimize logistics, product development, and corporate administration. Among its standout architectural and structural features are towering 39-foot clear ceilings that maximize vertical storage potential, a sprawling 45,650-square-foot mezzanine level that expands usable interior space, and a large, highly secure truck court capable of handling heavy commercial logistics.

Once fully operational, the Greer Circle headquarters will consolidate multiple core facets of the business under one roof. The facility will house the company’s executive and administrative offices, a vast warehouse space, shipping and fulfillment operations, dedicated product development studios, an expansive design library, and a fully functional working corporate showroom. This integration of design, distribution, and corporate oversight is expected to streamline workflows and foster closer collaboration between the brand’s creative and operational teams.

In addition to the main building, the property offers valuable potential for future organizational growth. An adjacent pre-graded site included in the acquisition provides approximately 87,000 square feet of land designated for future facility expansion, ensuring that the company has ample room to scale its operations in the decades to come. Furthermore, reflecting a commitment to sustainability and corporate responsibility, a portion of the property’s surrounding land will be transformed into an organic community garden, providing a green space for employees and the surrounding community.

The strategic location of the Stone Mountain facility offers immediate logistical advantages for Currey & Company. Situated just minutes away from major transportation arteries including Highway 78 and Interstate 285, the new headquarters will significantly enhance the company’s shipping capacity. It will also feature a dedicated, covered customer pickup area, improving the overall service experience for visiting trade professionals and commercial clients. Importantly, the new location is close enough to the company’s current operating base to retain its established, highly valued employee workforce, minimizing disruption for staff members during the transition.

For the second-generation, family-owned enterprise, securing ownership of its headquarters building also fulfills a long-held corporate goal. Independent property ownership provides the business with stability, long-term financial security, and the operational freedom to invest heavily in its physical infrastructure without the constraints typically associated with long-term leasing arrangements.

Reflecting on the magnitude of the relocation, Brownlee Currey, Chief Executive Officer of Currey & Company, emphasized the transformative nature of the real estate investment. After nearly 25 years anchored at the Best Friend Road location, Currey views the transition as a profound milestone that extends far beyond a simple change of mailing address. He noted that the new facility presents a rare and valuable opportunity to construct a modern workplace explicitly designed around the identity and aspirations of the company it is currently becoming, rather than forcing the business to continuously adapt to the limitations of a building shaped by its past. As a family-owned business, Currey highlighted that having the institutional independence and financial autonomy to execute such a monumental long-term investment is enormously meaningful to the leadership, the family, and the broader organizational community.

Based originally in Atlanta, Currey & Company has established a robust national and international presence as a premier wholesale provider of lighting, furniture, and home accessories. In addition to its upcoming headquarters in Stone Mountain, the company maintains permanent, professionally curated showrooms in major design and market centers across the United States, including Atlanta, Georgia; Dallas, Texas; Las Vegas, Nevada; and High Point, North Carolina. As the company prepares for the move over the coming months, the acquisition of the Greer Circle property positions Currey & Company for sustained growth, operational excellence, and continued leadership within the wholesale home furnishings and design industry.
