When Kasseem “Swizz Beatz” Dean sets out to create something new, whether it is a chart-topping beat for legendary artists like Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Drake or curating a world-class contemporary art collection, he approaches the endeavor with a distinct philosophy that bridges different creative mediums. Today, the Grammy-winning producer brings that same visionary mindset to the world of interior design with the official launch of his very first furniture and home decor line, titled Casa Dean by Swizz Beatz, in collaboration with modern furniture powerhouse CB2.

Appearing on the cover of Architectural Digest and owning some of the world’s most breathtaking architectural landmarks—most notably Wallace E. Cunningham’s iconic, ocean-view Razor House in La Jolla, California—has certainly given the multi-hyphenate artist a unique edge when conceptualizing physical living spaces. Yet, rather than treating design as an entirely foreign discipline, Dean found that music and furniture design actually flex the exact same artistic muscles. The comprehensive collection, which features well over 100 meticulously crafted furniture and home decor items, explores contemporary, family-friendly home design through an elevated artistic lens. The line encompasses a wide array of statement pieces, including art-inspired upholstery, striking lighting fixtures, unique wall decor, hand-knotted rugs, and sculptural glassware, all intentionally designed to encourage quality time with loved ones in a sophisticated environment.

"My goal for the collection was to bring families together, which is why I named it after my family," Dean explains, highlighting the deeply personal roots of the project. "I wanted to design what I thought was the creative home for all creatives—no matter what medium you choose."

Developed in close collaboration with Evan Jerry, the founder of Studio ANANSI and a prominent member of CB2’s renowned Designer Collective, the line is heavily saturated in rich earth tones, sweeping curved edges, and a decadent array of luxurious textures. The visual vocabulary of Casa Dean introduces contemporary, channel-tufted sectionals wrapped in inviting olive green velvet, egg-shaped swivel chairs upholstered in fluffy taupe shearling, and playful drinkware crafted from smokey glass. Among these pieces, the bubble-stemmed glasses stand out as a personal favorite for both the producer and design enthusiasts alike. "I imagined these pieces as sculptures, so whether you’re using or viewing them, they always feel like art," Dean notes of the delicate yet functional drinkware.

The overarching aesthetic of the collection strikes a careful balance between opposing visual elements, a quality that did not happen by accident. According to Andrea Erman, CB2’s senior director of design and product development, there is a deliberate dialogue woven into every single SKU. "There’s a beautiful tension between bold, sculptural silhouettes and softer, more tactile materials," Erman says. "The rich browns, warm ivories, bronze accents, and unexpected touches of color give everything a sense of warmth and sophistication."

Throughout the extensive lineup, deeply personal details and autobiographical nods are woven directly into the fabric of the collection. Dean’s well-documented penchant for high-end art collecting—his private holdings were notably celebrated and displayed at the Brooklyn Museum in 2024—is explicitly represented within the launch through a selection of custom, commissioned paintings created by visual artist Megan Gabrielle.

Furthermore, the color palette heavily relies on Dean’s favorite hue: British Racing Green. This deep, saturated leather finish dramatically covers statement pieces such as the Brainstorm Leather Accent Chair and acts as a striking accent on the mappa burl wood Lam-Louie DJ Console—a nod to his foundational roots in music production, because a Swizz Beatz collection would simply not be complete without a dedicated DJ console. "I love that color on any car, furniture—I’d even paint the outside of a home with it," Dean says of the signature shade. "I feel it represents timelessness, elegance, and class."

Despite spanning over 100 distinct items, ranging from large-scale living room furniture to subtle tabletop accessories, a powerful sense of visual cohesion is apparent across the entire catalog. For instance, the oxblood enamel hexagonal coffee table acts as a versatile anchor that pairs effortlessly with either the dark taupe or the warm white New Zealand wool area rugs. This harmonious integration is a direct testament to Dean’s intuitive creative direction and his holistic approach to spatial design.

"Music is art, designing is art, so I used the same side of my brain I would use to make music, the medium was just different," he shares, drawing a direct parallel between his decades in the recording studio and his new venture in the home furnishings sector. "One is a sonic installation and the other is a visual and physical installation, they coexist like brother and sister."

The Casa Dean by Swizz Beatz collection officially launches today, with the full assortment available for purchase exclusively through CB2 both online and in select retail locations.
